Slap and Giggle Report 27.02.07

Another fabulous balmy evening with 2 players retiring for the night - Adam W due to lethargy and Steven (apparently to an old war injury although rumour has it he threw in the game as he was losing to his lover).

Welcome back to Bing and Kurt - both been absent for a little while.

Apologies received from Matt (still has wankerhand syndrome) and Ian (playing with the pollies down south).

The idea of playing singles to wrap up the night was good and a lot of fun was had by all.

To help the nite go smoother your Executive would appreciate that when you are not on court, you assist with ball boi and umpire duties to save the same people doing it each week.

Monies acknowledged from Adam and Steven ($12) Marcus ($3) Dale ($6) Andy ($3) Mikey ($3) Kurt ($3). Adam W and Scott have prepaid.

Don't forget if you know people who might enjoy the nite - bring them along - the more the merrier as if we get enuff numbers we will play 3 bois on each side!

Sleep well, have a great week - play hard but safe and if you are going to Mardi Gras - well don't bother telling me about it 'cause I can't afford to go!

Slap & GiggleReport for 20.02.07

Dahlings an absolutely fabulous nite of slap and giggle with 10 players taking to the courts - well eventually!. Cheered on by the bois fag hag and her lesbian partner sipping wine from tea cups the night was sure to be a hell fire. Staying with the theme and not to be outdone, there was a wonderful strip tease performed to the music of 4 sets of strings (tennis racquets) by Adam R and of course the late arrival of Anthony. Dale is fast becoming Kurt's replacement and managed to score 23 6's for the night - a person that is truly in the wrong game and should be playing cricket for the Bangladesh team! There were some simply marvelous, I say simply fabulous rallys played during the night. A disgruntled player whose name shall not be mentioned here, has lodged a complaint about the size of Marcus's weapon. Now Mark, you shoul dknow that the size of Marcus' thing is in line with Tennus Australie guidelines and he will be able to take to the court with his piece. Apologies for the night noted by Kurt, Yanni, Mathias, Scott and Ross. Don't forget for those wanting to send a cheerio to Ian his email address is ian_crawford 101@hotmail.com. C youz all next week. THE CHAIR. Payments for the night acknowledged from Mikey $6, Marcus $3, Andy $3, Adam R $3, and Anthony $6. Nite all!

Tennis Report - 06.02.07

I write this over a tall Scotch on the rockies so if there is anything incorrect then stiff shit really! Anyhoot, the night was reasonably attended with 8 players and as usual there were plenty of giggles following some hits, near misses and other dangerous plays. Of note was Mikey tripping over his shoes, Ross returning serves, Adam R trying to outdo Kurt by hitting the ball out of bounds and of course the dubious calls from the umpires of the time. On a good note, Marcus, a new player was welcomed and he certainly knows how to play hard ball. On a sad note, tonight was Yanni's last game this season as he sets for Capital Hill. Acknowledging apologies received for the night: Matt (sore hand from over exercising), Kurt (no car due to too many side swiping activities), CJ (coz Matt wasn't gonna be there, Andy (coz Kurt was not going to be there), Dale (coz he had free food and wine at Jaks place). Current scores are listed above: c u all next week. HugZ and KisseZ The Chair

Strictly Tennis 30.01.07

Once again, a strictly awesome turn out to this evenings matches with 10 players taking to the court in an array of fashion including: Mark's Strictly Ballroom all black ensemble (obviously in support of the All Blacks) to the race track checks of CJ's bloomers to the 'oh Im so gay' white singlet of Adam. Partnerships were drawn as the players arrived on set and tonight there were 5 teams>>>>> Mikey & Ian, Adam W and Dale, Ross and Adam R, Matt and CJ and Mark and Scott. In all there were 32 games played for a total of 104 points. Following discussion amongst the executive, it was decided that players who played less games would have their nights average game score added to their points, rather than using the old system. The AGS from last week has been adjusted to reflect this new ruling. Mikey and Ian were the only team to play 4 games, all other players had their Personalised Average Game Score (PAGS) added to their score for the night. The PAGS added were as follows: Mark and Scott played 3 games for a total of 15 points = PAGS of 5 Ross and Adam played 3 games for a total of 7 points = PAGS of 2 and Matt & CJ played 3 games for a total of 11 points = PAGS of 4. Mark: 72 Scott: 66 Ross: 40 Mikey: 36 Matt: 35 C.J.: 25 Dale: 19 Adam R: 17 Adam W: 14 Andy: 10 Ian: 10 Kurt: 1 The Executive Thanks You For Your Participation and For You Ongoing Support in Playing the Roles of Umpires and Ball Bois ALL NIGHT........ Executive Meeting Minutes 16.02.07

Tuesday Night Tennis Group Minutes for meeting held February 16, 2007 at West End courts Starting at 7pm Attendees: Michael, Mark, Ross, Scott, Adam, Ian Apologies: Obe, Kurt General Business: *Office bearers for the group were decided. Michael will continue as President, Scott will be Secretary; Mark will be Treasurer; and Ross will be in charge of advertising. *The Autumn/Winter season competition will run from February to June. Depending on interest, a winter/spring season competition will be organised for July to December. *Tennis dues were discussed. The court costs $10 a week to hire, regardless of whether a round of tennis is held or not. And instead of changing the amount per player every week depending on who turns up, the committee decided that each player should pay a flat fee of $3 a week, regardless of whether they turn up or not. It was agreed that this would provide more incentive for players to turn up on a more regular basis and would mean the President is not out of pocket. The dues will cover court costs, as well as an end of season break-up. Players who have a problem with this arrangement can contact the President. It was agreed that the Treasurer will be responsible for collecting fees, instead of the President, who undertook this duty last year. The Treasurer suggested setting up a bank account so participants could, if they chose to, electronically transfer their dues. The committee resolved to authorise the Treasurer to establish a bank account at his choice of banking institution and to be the sole signatory on the account. The treasurer undertook to advise all members of the bank details once the account was functional. *New rules and a new format of competition were also discussed. The basketball backboard and wall of the adjacent school building are now able to be used. For example, if a player playing a shot from the southern side of the court hits the backboard at the northern end of the court and the ball bounces back into the court, then the players from the northern end of the court must ‘play on’ as if the ball landed legally on their side of the court. This rule also extends to the side of the school building where a player hits the ball, and it bounces off the building and back into the opposing team’s court within regulation. A bonus point will also be awarded to a team who, when taking a shot, puts the tennis ball through the basketball hoop (and within the confines of the above rule). With there being no other general business, the meeting was closed at 7.15pm and players took to the court.

Tennis Club dues

The Executive of our tennis club met last night and it was agreed that all tennis members will pay a weekly amount of $3.00. This fee will cover the court hire and will also allow for a fully catered BBQ (with grog) at the end of the season in June 2007. This decision was made, as a result of last season when wash outs and lack of numbers meant there were no games, but the court fee was still paid out of my personal money - a luxury I cannot afford this year. The fee is payable weekly and is payable whether or not you actually turn up for tennis - so it is an incentive for you to arrive each week. Mark will post the bank account details here shortly so that you can remit via EFT. Any dramas let me know Mikey
