Strictly Tennis 30.01.07

Once again, a strictly awesome turn out to this evenings matches with 10 players taking to the court in an array of fashion including: Mark's Strictly Ballroom all black ensemble (obviously in support of the All Blacks) to the race track checks of CJ's bloomers to the 'oh Im so gay' white singlet of Adam. Partnerships were drawn as the players arrived on set and tonight there were 5 teams>>>>> Mikey & Ian, Adam W and Dale, Ross and Adam R, Matt and CJ and Mark and Scott. In all there were 32 games played for a total of 104 points. Following discussion amongst the executive, it was decided that players who played less games would have their nights average game score added to their points, rather than using the old system. The AGS from last week has been adjusted to reflect this new ruling. Mikey and Ian were the only team to play 4 games, all other players had their Personalised Average Game Score (PAGS) added to their score for the night. The PAGS added were as follows: Mark and Scott played 3 games for a total of 15 points = PAGS of 5 Ross and Adam played 3 games for a total of 7 points = PAGS of 2 and Matt & CJ played 3 games for a total of 11 points = PAGS of 4. Mark: 72 Scott: 66 Ross: 40 Mikey: 36 Matt: 35 C.J.: 25 Dale: 19 Adam R: 17 Adam W: 14 Andy: 10 Ian: 10 Kurt: 1 The Executive Thanks You For Your Participation and For You Ongoing Support in Playing the Roles of Umpires and Ball Bois ALL NIGHT........ Executive Meeting Minutes 16.02.07

Tuesday Night Tennis Group Minutes for meeting held February 16, 2007 at West End courts Starting at 7pm Attendees: Michael, Mark, Ross, Scott, Adam, Ian Apologies: Obe, Kurt General Business: *Office bearers for the group were decided. Michael will continue as President, Scott will be Secretary; Mark will be Treasurer; and Ross will be in charge of advertising. *The Autumn/Winter season competition will run from February to June. Depending on interest, a winter/spring season competition will be organised for July to December. *Tennis dues were discussed. The court costs $10 a week to hire, regardless of whether a round of tennis is held or not. And instead of changing the amount per player every week depending on who turns up, the committee decided that each player should pay a flat fee of $3 a week, regardless of whether they turn up or not. It was agreed that this would provide more incentive for players to turn up on a more regular basis and would mean the President is not out of pocket. The dues will cover court costs, as well as an end of season break-up. Players who have a problem with this arrangement can contact the President. It was agreed that the Treasurer will be responsible for collecting fees, instead of the President, who undertook this duty last year. The Treasurer suggested setting up a bank account so participants could, if they chose to, electronically transfer their dues. The committee resolved to authorise the Treasurer to establish a bank account at his choice of banking institution and to be the sole signatory on the account. The treasurer undertook to advise all members of the bank details once the account was functional. *New rules and a new format of competition were also discussed. The basketball backboard and wall of the adjacent school building are now able to be used. For example, if a player playing a shot from the southern side of the court hits the backboard at the northern end of the court and the ball bounces back into the court, then the players from the northern end of the court must ‘play on’ as if the ball landed legally on their side of the court. This rule also extends to the side of the school building where a player hits the ball, and it bounces off the building and back into the opposing team’s court within regulation. A bonus point will also be awarded to a team who, when taking a shot, puts the tennis ball through the basketball hoop (and within the confines of the above rule). With there being no other general business, the meeting was closed at 7.15pm and players took to the court.

Tennis Club dues

The Executive of our tennis club met last night and it was agreed that all tennis members will pay a weekly amount of $3.00. This fee will cover the court hire and will also allow for a fully catered BBQ (with grog) at the end of the season in June 2007. This decision was made, as a result of last season when wash outs and lack of numbers meant there were no games, but the court fee was still paid out of my personal money - a luxury I cannot afford this year. The fee is payable weekly and is payable whether or not you actually turn up for tennis - so it is an incentive for you to arrive each week. Mark will post the bank account details here shortly so that you can remit via EFT. Any dramas let me know Mikey
