Simple Tennis 24.04.07

The Masters watched tennis in dismay - yet another squeal from Ross as he goes to hit the ball. Yeah whatever, some guys turned up and some didn’t – some guys coughed their lungs out whilst others just hit the balls out – some guys lost the balls and others didn’t fetch them – usual night.

Tennis Tuesday 10/4/07

Well what a fabulous round of tennis this evening – with 9 fashion conscious players taking to the court and a lot of rumour mongering and calls of unsupportive cheer coming from the sidelines.

A warm welcome to Eddie who joined the throng and is set to give Kurt a run for his money with not less than 12 balls over the boundary fence line – well done Eddie!

Adam R attempted to throw the game by staging an injury and blowing it out of all proportions and Marcus’ thundering charges with his illegitimate racquet kept all at bay.

Congratulations to the Challengers Challenge who rounded off the night with Marcus and Mikey decking Marc and Adam W in a demonstration of grit, determination, sweat and just damn fine ball playing. Talking of balls, Adam W would do well to leave his alone whilst on the court – it ain’t gonna get any bigger playing with them all night dearest!

On to serious business, the picnic day that was to be held on the 22nd April had been transferred to WEDNESDAY 25 APRIL (ANZAC DAY) as there were several people who could not make the 22nd. Whilst Scott has kindly offered to cater with snags and salad would all people who intend to make the Picnic in Da Park please confirm their attendance by emailing Scott ASAP!!

It would also be appreciated if those coming can bring a plate of nibblies etc and remember this is not the official tennis BBQ so BYPG as well.

For those who may have balls (boci) or similar play things that we can use for a social game in the park, please bring these along.

Most people received (via email) a voucher entitling them to a free coffee or orange juice when they purchase a breakfast @ Brown Dog Café.

For those of you who didn’t receive it – please advise me of your email address and I will send it on to you.

For those that don’t know – there is a group of us that meet each Saturday morning at 09:30 @ Brown Dog Café at Woolloongabba – so why not come along and enjoy the great food, ambience and services – and it’s as cheap as shit!

See you at tennis on the 10th and Brown Dog on the 14th!
