Brisbane Extreme

We are now back in Canberra after a whirl wind visit to Brisbane - On Friday afternoon when we arrived, Ian caught up with Obe and Anthony and I caught up with Dale and Adam at Adam's brand new hair salon (where Adam very kindly fixed my salt and pepper look). That night we celebrated with a few close friends and family, Adam and Stephens new venture 'Entice Hair Design' - finally one of Adam's dreams has come true! We then left the salon after copious bottles of bubbly and went to a relatively new cocktail bar at Eagle Street Pier where we all learnt how deadly French Martini's are (deadly on the wallet and the head!) A slow walk back to our hotel in the weeee hours of Saturday morning, a good snoring session from us both and then waking up to a stunningly beautiful new day. On Saturday on our way to Southbank, we noticed the new pedestrian pathway being built under the riverside expressway and also noticed that we now have our very own 'Brisbane Eye'. ($15 for 5 revolutions) . We had a great day in the park with Yanni's family and Obe and Dale joinng us before a quick downpour prematurely brought the day to an end. Dale, Yanni and I found ourselves back at our hotel bar on Saturday afternoon where we had a few more drinkies and caught up with Adam II before heading over to Adam and Stephen's for dinner. A lovely BBQ and time to catch up with Bing before we headed off to the Wicky where (surprinsingly) a few more drinks were had. At 1:00am Yanni and I thought we would sneak back to our hotel where we selpt the rest of the morning away until 9:00am when we checked out and went to West End for brunch, catching up with Jak, Dan, Marcus, Alan and Cheryle. Unfortunately we only had 2 hours before we picked up a kilo of our favourite coffee beans and left for the airport to return to Canberra. Ian carried the coffee beans in on th eplane and the cabin crew commented how gorgiou the brew smelt, it wafted throughout the plane the entire flight! Back at home, tired and worn out, but it was great to see everyone after 4 months and I know that we will be returning home for another visit soon - well within 3 months at least!
